How much does a small business website cost?

Website analysisPrices vary WIDELY between web developers. So does quality.

If you want a basic website, you can find quotes for $1000-$1500.

That level of service is suitable for those who don’t need to reach the general public. ie. If you’re setting up a page to document your wedding or to share your holiday travels.

It gets you a basic website that you can put a link to on your personal or business card or Facebook page and tell existing friends or clients about.

BUT that level of service is probably NOT GOING TO BRING IN NEW CLIENTS.

Without the necessary background research, digital strategy, planning and marketing work, a web site WON’T GET RANKED IN SEARCH ENGINES. Or show up on maps. Or come up as answers to queries people make on their mobile phones.

Furthermore, while potential customers probably won’t find your site, those who do, probably won’t be influenced in the way you’d like them to be.

What does it cost to create a quality website for a small business?

A good business website will cost more.

This is because it takes more time and skill to be well researched, thought out, designed and supported with complimentary strategies.

A business needs a website that attracts lots of new visitors, AND persuades them to do business with you!

A web developer that incorporates digital marketing techniques will put in a lot more time behind the scenes, and that’s what accounts for higher prices.

I offer website packages to cater for various needs and budgets. See my page on web design and development for an overview of what the different packages provide.
